U.S. Census changes could add Middle Eastern, North African, Latino, other categories tucsonsentinel.com/nationworld
A proposal by the Census Bureau could overhaul the way it questions race and ethnicity, in an attempt to “ensure that all people are able to identify themselves within one or more of the minimum categories," and "categories reflect meaningful and easy to understand distinctions.”

Barf. That is going totally the wrong way.

"Race" is a concept without any scientific or logical basis.
America was supposedly founded on the principle that all people are created equal. The gov should be *forbidden* to not only discriminate among citizens on the basis of "race", but even from classifying them by it.

"Ethnicity" has a semi-rational sociological definition, but self-labeling makes it meaningless too.

Those questions should just be expunged from the Census.

@JorgeStolfi @TucsonSentinel "Supposedly" is doing so much work there, it just tripped over its own hernia. Sure, race just didn't exist when America was founded. Deep insight.

Where am I wrong? What in that page contradicts what I wrote? Do you disagree that most Americans believe in Dogmas 1-8?
