We happen to live in an age when voters prefer presidents who endlessly brag about what they didn't do to those who get stuff done without being obnoxious about it. Offensiveness is our new national fetish and Mark Kelly just doesn't have it.

But, yes, sadly, competence doesn't make one popular as a presidential candidate.
