The federal government’s top official for public housing appeared with Tucson’s mayor on June 13 to announce emergency relief aimed at making it “as easy as possible” to help residents of public housing “afford air conditioning,” but city officials say tenants won’t see any of the aid this year.

@TucsonSentinel Um, what was the point of emergency relief if that relief doesn’t come this year? For those unaware, it is common for electric bills to be $300-600 a month in the hottest months here in Phoenix. It’s crushing for low income renters.
