Az’s medical marijuana market has shrunk to just 1/4 the size of recreational pot sales tucsonsentinel.com/local/repor
After a slight uptick in March, the medical marijuana market continued its slow-moving free-fall and has dropped to one-quarter of the size of the adult-use market three years after recreational sales began.

@TucsonSentinel This raises an interesting question:

Are medical marijuana users now saving money by skipping the medical appointments they needed to get medical marijuana before recreational weed was legal? (The higher tax on recreational weed is probably cheap compared to a doctor's appointment, except for really heavy users.)

Or were a lot of former medical marijuana users really primarily recreational users?

That would make an interesting subject for a survey.

On an analogous personal note, about an unquestionably medical substance, I bought a lot of fexofenadine (Allegra) by international mail order to save on doctor's appointments that had no meaning except prescription renewals. It was a big relief when it went to over-the-counter.
