A Republican-led measure that would prohibit municipalities in Arizona from from adopting “any ordinance, order or rule that has the purpose or effect of making payments to persons as part of a guaranteed income program” cleared its first hurdle toward becoming law.

@LaNaehForaday @TucsonSentinel Another couple years and I'll be homeless too. My rent goes up $75 to $100/month every year. Meanwhile, my income stays the same. If I applied today, I wouldn't qualify because of the income-to-rent requirement. A new applicant would be facing rent on the same apartment that's $200 higher than what I'm paying.
Some of the one-bedrooms in my complex have four people living in them.

Did they build in exceptions for Social Security? Annuities?
@TucsonSentinel
The homeless situation in Arizona is WILD. It's an entire population with people that work, have children that go to school and live without a permanent dwelling. This situation is going to continue to grow and the irony? Phoenix has a massive number of unoccupied newly built condos, apts and the like.
