The overwhelming Democratic majority in Arizona 3rd Congressional District means the race is in the primary, but that has not stopped several Republican and independent hopefuls from lining up to fill the seat being vacated by Rep. Ruben Gallego.

Hey, it’s a wild long shot… but if you’re not in the game, you *cannot* win.

They’re either delusional MAGA extremists or they are simply in to try to be the nominee and IF, in the event that the Democratic nominee bursts into flame and implodes just before the election, they’re in position to snap up the opening.

Given GOP behavior, Dems should be in similar slots in reliably red districts.

Which just points to another fundamental defect of our system. But there it is.
