Kroger and Albertsons have announced the sale of over 400 stores - including 24 in Arizona - and handful of brands, distribution centers and other assets to a competitor and wholesaler in advance of a planned merger.

@TucsonSentinel So they dump some ill-performing assets right before they merge and destroy what little competition remains in food retail. Their larger size will run the shed assets out of business.
