Canada’s seemingly endless wildfires in 2023 introduced millions of people across North America to the health hazards of wildfire smoke, and air quality scientists say smoky haze and worsening air quality could be the new normal.

@TucsonSentinel You know there's a problem when your outdoor air quality sensor starts warning you about O₃ (ozone), then the next day claims everything's fine, the humidity is a perfect 0%, air quality is ERR.

Wait.

Yes, the Québec wildfires killed one of my sensors. And a whole lot of animals. And possibly some people. Let alone the property damage & potential for cancer 30 years from now.

@TucsonSentinel Like, the last 10 years the problem's been visibly growing. I don't forget the news reports of Canada importing Australian firefighters, then exporting our own back to Australia as the seasons change. And sending down water bombers to California.
