Over the last five years, the CSPOA, founded in 2011 by former Arizona sheriff Richard Mack, has quietly spread its ideology across the country, seeking to become more mainstream in part by securing state approval for taxpayer-funded law enforcement training.

Taxpayer funded law enforcement training? That's terrifying, considering their worldview, and their goals.

@TucsonSentinel Michigan has a few of these. The loudest are seriously dangerous and embarrassing, Dar Leaf being the exemplar. I am currently not speaking to my own rural sheriff over similar issues (rural, I know him well).

@TucsonSentinel Reminds me of Joe Arpaio, seems like he should be investigated, indicted as he is in violation of the Constitution.
