ER doctors are increasingly being replaced by “midlevel practitioners,” who can perform many of the same duties and generate much of the same revenue for less than half the pay - though evidence that suggests dropping doctors from ERs may not be good for patients.

@TucsonSentinel NPs and PAs are great, but ERs are already chronically understaffed. Cutting out ER doctors is solving something other than the current problem.
