@TucsonSentinel Long ago, when I went through the hiring process for my local PD (I ended up doing something else…) I was told by others - you know policing is 90% social work? Which was fine by me. We need to tell recruits that and train them accordingly. #Policing #Rethinking

@TucsonSentinel There are some good police officers in Tucson. There’s a dedicated mental health response team, I think. But there are some bad ones. What happened to the off- duty guy who tackled a woman in a parking lot of a restaurant? And then there was the one who shot a guy in a wheelchair.
