Tucson homeless population up slightly, but more people in shelters tucsonsentinel.com/local/repor
Pima County's homeless population increased slightly from last year, leaving just over 2,000 people living outside, in shelters, or transitional housing, according to a January point-in-time count. But the number without any shelter has dropped by nearly 25 percent.

@TucsonSentinel Each time I see homeless encampments, I'm curious to know if anyone has conducted a comprehensive survey of what the homeless want. How many are too brain addled through either drugs or alcohol to make different choices and how many are too mentally ill to recognize their situation. Is there a definitive study on the mental state of the chronically homeless?
