A local hip-hop artist is dropping out of the Ward 5 race for Tucson City Council. Fabian Danobeytia, who has worked in the software field, told the Tucson Sentinel he is ending his candidacy for the South Side seat.

He said he was told to drop out by a law firm threatening to challenge his candidacy signatures. He barely hit the minimum required, and candidates usually get far-beyond the signatures needed to avoid ineligibility.
That sucks.
But I wish politicians would stop letting PR wanks tell them to make statements like "We're MOVING FORWARD with dropping out" like it's aaaall part of plans.
Just say "the shit got cheap and ugly and we quit because we ran out of time."
Please.
