Kroger CEO insists proposed Albertsons merger will lower grocery prices tucsonsentinel.com/nationworld
The CEOs of both Kroger and Albertsons testified in an Oregon federal court at the midpoint of a three-week hearing on the Federal Trade Commission's attempt to block a proposed merger between the grocery store chains.

@TucsonSentinel and that is exactly what won’t happen. we’ve been to this rodeo already.

@TucsonSentinel Kroger also has some ocean front property for sale in Arizona. If the merger goes through, more than 90 percent of the grocery stores in Tucson will be owned by Kroger and I will never set foot in one of them again.

@TucsonSentinel Mergers have never lowered prices to consumers. Mergers give the mega corps bigger profits because they can dominate the supply chain and get lower costs to themselves. Taking away choices, selections and competition never benefits consumers. This should be laughed at.

@Catawu @TucsonSentinel exactly....it is why I hope Harris continues Biden's efforts to rope in these beasts in her administration....applaud the work they've done, lots more to do.
