Democrats on Capitol Hill have long called for a pathway to permanent residency for Dreamers, but Republicans contend that now is not the time to consider an effort to protect undocumented youth, pointing to what they said is a more urgent need to crack down on illegal immigration.

If the GOP contained any humane humans (no, I won't hold my breath) they would join with the Democrats, set the "Dreamers" on a sensible road to citizenship, and then move on to other issues that deserve attention.
I won't say it'll never happen, but in my lifetime? (I'm 76). Yes, if there is a Blue tidal wave in Nov. A crushing rebuke to the MAGA crazies. An overwhelming total defeat in spite of Putin et al pouring money into their campaign to destroy our country. May it be.
