The events of 9/11 and the global war on terror are integrated into U.S. classrooms with a relatively consistent narrative that focuses on 9/11 as an unprecedented and shocking attack, but there are inherent risks in teaching a simple nationalistic narrative of heroism and evil.

@TucsonSentinel I mean this is how they taught us about Pearl harbor when I was growing up.
I went to a very decent public school and was never taught about the connection between this country's Pacific expansionism and colonization and the attack on Pearl harbor. the first time I read about these 2 things together was in college level American history.
anyways, just saying I'm unsurprised. disgusted like yourself, but unsurprised.
