The earlier post apparently wasn't clear. I don't mean looking for an instance to join. I was describing the web hosting services that specialize in hosting mastodon instances. So not joining a mastodon instance but creating a new one, etc.
@joshtpm I'm thinking that journalistic operations should stand up their own insances, so then you'd be @josh@talkingpointsmemo.com and there'd be @kateriga@talkingpointsmemo.com etc - then just by looking at the handles anyone can tell where they're really from. And the individual journos are happy because if/when they move on, they can take their followers with them.
